The entrance to your home is an important statement. It is the focal point on the exterior and sets the tone for the rest of the interior.
For this custom project, we worked with our client to fabricate a massive custom grand pivot door. It made such a statement to the entrance of their home, everyone who saw it usually reacted with the same statement ‘that’s one big a## door’.
The door was super heavy duty, storm resistant, thermally insulated and clad in beautiful mahogany wood so it is easily re-sandable, paintable and stainable over its entire lifetime. Suitable for a Vancouver climate.
As big as this door was it was extremely light to operation, it almost seemed to float in its frame. That’s because the door swings on a pivot and not a hinge.
Rather than hanging from hinges in the frame, a pivot-hung door swings on a set of pins mounted in the top and bottom of the door.
